Dining guests at the King of Prussia Mall do not have to change their lunch plans just yet. Despite a wave of closures hitting the national health food chain True Food Kitchen, the local outpost remains operational following the company’s recent bankruptcy filing in Texas on October 4. The financial restructuring led to the immediate shuttering of twelve locations across the country, representing about a third of its total restaurants.
Company spokesperson Charlotte Stone confirmed that the King of Prussia site stayed open through mid-October, though she noted that leadership continues to evaluate the overall business footprint. Since arriving in the area in 2017, the brand has carved out a niche by targeting active residents and those seeking nutrient dense meals, even earning recognition for some of the best vegan takeout options in the suburbs.
Chief Executive Officer Jeff Chandler described the legal proceedings as a necessary step toward simplifying operations and focusing on the core mission of providing hospitable service and craveable food. As part of this transition, the brand is expected to be put up for sale while management attempts to stabilize its finances and strengthen internal systems. For now, loyal patrons can still visit their favorite spots on the menu while the corporate entity searches for a sustainable path forward.
